Installation (partial view) in the main gallery, Musée du Montparnasse

The Junk Mail Experiment: PARIS
Under the sponsorship of the Les Amis de la Terre - Paris and R.A.P. (resistance a l’agression publicitaire) and in collaboration with French film maker Suzanne Körösi.  One hundred Parisian school children who had been collecting the junk mail that they receive at home worked with Hashimoto at the exhibition space to shred the paper and build an installation.

Concurrent to this show in Paris, Dubhe Carreño Gallery (Chicago) presented an exhibition of selected work from Hashimoto's on-going environmental art project, The Junk Mail Experiment. The Chicago gallery relayed a live-video feed direct from the museum in Paris during the building of the installation and opening events. Upon her return to Chicago, Hashimoto discussed her collaborative experiences in Paris and presented a short-cut from Suzanne Körois’ film of the project.
