For this exhibition, which was sponsored
by The Chicago Arts District and Podmajersky, Inc. in association
with ARTropolis, Barbara Hashimoto has created a grouping of three
large-scaled sculptural installations from the shredded junk mail
and presents historical work from The Project. The installation
evolved during the exhibition run as the junk mail collected at
BauerLatoza Studio was added each week. She also premiered “White
Trash,” an installation incorporating the white paper used
and discarded by BauerLatoza Studio during the daily operations
of the business. Integrated within the exhibition are a series
of video and audio junk mail explorations by guest artist Michael
Kozien.
